In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

Good thing those guys got arrested for talking about blowing up the JFK airport! Too bad they didn’t actually have any explosives and, even if they did, their nefarious plan couldn’t have worked. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/04/nyregion/04plot.html?ex=1338609600&en=f339740cbd7e7131&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss http://fairuse.100webcustomers.com/fairenough/latimesA29.html

Just what the administration needed to counter all the Gonzales-corruption news. An evil-looking guy has now "confessed" to 9/11 and other atrocities! Apparently the elusive bin Laden didn't have anything to do with 9/11 after all:

“I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z,” [Khalid Sheikh] Mohammed said in a statement read Saturday during a Combatant Status Review Tribunal at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Mohammed’s confession was read by a member of the U.S. military who is serving as his personal representative.

But wait. Mr. Mohammed, who now purportedly confesses complete responsibility for 9/11, is from Pakistan. He was captured in Pakistan. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8307872/page/2/ Does this mean the U.S. should have invaded Pakistan instead of Afghanistan?

The revelation in Woodward’s new book that Condoleeza Rice ignored explicit warnings of an impending attack in August 2001 is completely consistent with Ron Suskind’s account of the CIA briefer who flew to Pres. Bush's Texas ranch in August 2001 to call the President's attention personally to the now-famous Aug. 6, 2001, memo titled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US."

After listening to the briefing, Bush replied: "All right. You've covered your ass, now."

Now we know that the administration ignored, in August 2001, the strongest warnings of an impending attack.

“Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she cannot recall then-CIA chief George Tenet warning her of an impending al-Qaida attack in the United States, as a new book claims he did two months before the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. . . .

“But though Tenet and Black warned Rice in the starkest terms of the prospects for attack, she brushed them off, Woodward reiterated Monday. He told NBC’s ‘Today’ show that Black told him the two men were so emphatic, it amounted to ‘holding a gun to her head’ and doing everything except pulling the trigger.”

What will it take before people start connecting the dots?

Has anyone found definitive proof that Hunter S Thompson was in fact working on a 9/11 expose before he died?  I've heard several statements that he was, but never from anything I considered to be verifiable.

I have wondered about this for years, and have never heard anyone else talk about it.  So if anyone can shed some light on it for me, please do.

I distinctly recall in the late afternoon/evening hours of 9/11, reports came across the news of bombs going off in Afghanistan.  I think I remember someone saying at the time it was the Northern Alliance, possibly with our backing.

I have never heard mention of this event again.   Did I make the whole thing up?  Has it been "forgotten" intentionally?

Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?

In response to recent media efforts to portray those who question the official story as being in the lunatic fringe, this article collects statements from high-level military/intelligence sources and others who assert that 9/11 was an inside job.

Marvin Bush [06 Jul 2006|01:12pm]
A 9/11 Commission panelist, retired Democratic Congressman Tim Roemer, told Time.com that the investigation must go beyond the House-Senate inquiry that was chiefly notable for its inability to interview top-level members of the Bush administration. Officials such as Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Colin Powell, and Condoleezza Rice “were not questioned directly about issues related to the September 11 attacks,” an oversight Roemer said needs to be corrected.

But getting White House cooperation will not be easy, said Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), who sponsored legislation creating the commission. The Bush administration, he said, “slow-walked and stonewalled” the congressional inquiry. “I don’t see how you can have a thorough investigation without talking to the people who were in charge throughout the time period prior to 9/11,” he said.

Such an investigation could reveal some embarrassing Bush family connections with a company “that intersected the weapons and targets on a day of national tragedy.” As Margie Burns reports in The American Reporter, an electronic daily newspaper, Marvin P. Bush, the president’s younger brother, was a principal in a company called Securacom that provided security for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport. The company, Burns noted, was backed by KuwAm, a Kuwaiti-American investment firm on whose board Marvin Burns also served. . . .

According to SEC filings, Securacom/Stratesec acquired the $8.3 million World Trade Center contract in October 1996. . . . Barry McDaniel, CEO of the company since January 2002, declines on security grounds to give specific details about work the company did at the World Trade Center. . . .

Two of the hijacked planes took off from Dulles Airport, and the other two were United Airlines planes. . . . Dulles is regarded as "absolutely a sensitive airport," according to security consultant Wayne Black, head of a Florida-based security firm, given its location, size, and the number of international carriers it serves.

Black has not heard of Stratesec, but responds that for one company to handle security for both airports and airlines is somewhat unusual. It is also delicate for a security firm serving international facilities to be so interlinked with a foreign-owned company: "Somebody knew somebody," he suggested, or the contract would have been more closely scrutinized.
As Black points out, "when you [a company] have a security contract, you know the inner workings of everything." And if another company is linked with the security company, then "What's on your computer is on their computer."

Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta was in the Presidential Emergency Operating Center with Vice President Cheney as Flight 77 approached Washington, D.C. On May 23, 2003 in front of the 9/11 Commission, Secretary Mineta testified:
"During the time that the airplane was coming in to the Pentagon, there was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President, "The plane is 50 miles out." "The plane is 30 miles out." And when it got down to "the plane is 10 miles out," the young man also said to the Vice President, "Do the orders still stand?" And the Vice President turned and whipped his neck around and said, "Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?"
Mineta explained to the Commission that while he had not known it at the time, he had surmised that the standing order the young man asked about must have been a shoot down order. Commissioner Lee Hamilton sought clarification about which flight the conversation was regarding, and Mineta once again clarified that it was the flight that hit the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. on September 11.

Although the airplanes, including the black boxes, used in the 9/11 terrorism virtually evaporated, four of the hijackers’ passports survived apparently due to a series of miraculous events.

First, the passport belonging to Satam al Suqami, one of the terrorists aboard American Airlines Flight 11, was found perfectly intact at the top of the World Trade Center rubble shortly after the towers collapsed, although the details of how the document was located are not entirely clear. According to the 9/11 Commission report, “A passerby picked it up and gave it to a NYPD detective shortly before the World Trade Center towers collapsed.” According to Wikipedia, “Four days after the attacks, the FBI claimed to have found al-Suqami's passport among the rubble on Vesey Street.” The only other piece of wreckage that FEMA could trace to Flight 11 was a charred fragment of landing gear on the intersection of West and Rector Streets.

Second, two passports of Flight 93 hijackers were supposedly retrieved from the wreckage in Pennsylvania. According to the 9/11 Commission, “Two [passports] were recovered from the crash site of United Airlines flight 93 in Pennsylvania. These are the passports of Ziad Jarrah and Saeed al Ghamdi.” http://www.sacred-texts.com/ame/911/911tr/012604.htm Indeed, you can look at a partially singed passport photograph of Jarrah here. http://experts.about.com/e/z/zi/Ziad_Jarrah.htm
A fourth passport was recovered from Mohamed Atta’s luggage that did not make it onto American Airlines flight 11. Atta’s luggage contained the passport of co-conspirator Abdul Aziz al Omari. http://www.sacred-texts.com/ame/911/911tr/012604.htm http://911research.wtc7.net/mirrors/guardian2/september-eleven/hijackers-alive.htm Seized after the September 11 crashes, Atta’s luggage turned out to contain a number of telling items, including a video cassette for a Boeing 757 flight simulator, a “how to be a terrorist in the United States” primer; and a folding knife and pepper spray, presumably extra weapons the two conspirators decided they didn't need.
Finally, a fireman at the scene of the Flight 77 crash at the Pentagon revealed late last year that on September 13, 2001 he found the perfectly clean and unblemished California ID card of Suzanne Calley, 42, one of the alleged victims killed aboard Flight 77. "I remember thinking it was highly unusual and strange to find a perfectly intact ID card amidst all that devastation," said Capt. Ingledue, a Pentagon first responder who arrived two days after 9/11 and spent a total of seven days in search and rescue. He explained: "I kept this bit of evidence with me a little longer, I don't know why, but I guess I thought it was strange to find an ID in perfect shape when everything else around me was devastated." http://www.propagandamatrix.com/articles/november2005/101105passport.htm

Ron Suskind's "The One Percent Doctrine" was released last week. The Washington Post says it's full of "jaw-dropping stories" about the "war on terror." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/19/AR2006061901211.html?sub=AR

For example, it's been widely publicized that George W. Bush received a presidential daily briefing on Aug. 6, 2001, in which he was warned: "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S." We've known for almost as long that Bush went fishing afterward.

What we didn't know is what happened in between the briefing and the fishing, and now Suskind is here to tell us. Bush listened to the briefing, Suskind says, then told the CIA briefer: "All right. You've covered your ass, now."

The New Pearl Harbor [27 Jun 2006|05:04pm]

- first off, if you haven't already, read The New Pearl Harbor by David Ray Griffen. it's an excellent book, extremely informative, but you're probably better off ordering it online. Borders & such still don't carry it, at least not in the Western NY region.

This man gives the best & most comprehensive case for an independent investigation into 9/11. truly phenomenal.. you should also watch his speech at madison university. it aired on c-span2 and is what first pulled me into the idea that everything really was orchestrated by people in our own government. I had been pouring over info, but he's the first one to just make me sit back & really look at how bad things have gotten in this country.

you can download it from the following two links..

"... critics of the official theory could point out, rejection of the conspiracy theory exacts a high price. A conspiracy theory usually depends upon the perception of a pattern, plus a claim that the existence of this pattern is best explained by supposing that it was brought about through the combined efforts of two or more people. To reject a particular conspiracy theory of this nature requires either a denial that the alleged pattern exists or the assertion that the existence of the pattern could be purely coincidental. It would be hard to deny that the critics of the official account have discerned a pattern. They have shown that many otherwise puzzling events - before, during, and after 9/11 - can be explained by the theory that high-level officials in the U. S. government conspired to allow the attacks to occur and then cover up this fact. Given that pattern, the price for rejecting this conspiracy theory is to accept a coincidence theory. And, critics of the official accountcan point out, the number of coincidences that would need to be accepted is enormous. A complete list would include the following coincidences:

While New York Times reporter Judith Miller was in jail for refusing to a name the source of her information about Valerie Plame, Scooter Libby wrote her a letter that concluded with a peculiar passage: “You went to jail in the summer. It is fall now. You will have stories to cover – Iraqi elections and suicide bombers, biological threats and the Iranian nuclear program. Out West, where you vacation, the aspens will already be turning. They turn in clusters, because their roots connect them. Come back to work – and life.” http://www.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/national/nat_MILLER_051001.pdf

Libby’s prediction of publicity about the Iranian nuclear program has proven prophetic. The source of his belief that “biological threats” would become news is still a mystery.

In any event, some have speculated that Libby and Miller were connected by the “roots” of a common affiliation with an intelligence organization. That hypothesis seems much more plausible in light of last week’s revelation that an as-yet unidentified White House source revealed to Judith Miller the weekend before July 4, 2001 that a major attack was being planned on the United States. In Judith Miller’s words, a conversation between two “Al Qaeda” members had been “picked up” by the NSA: “And they had been talking to one another, supposedly expressing disappointment that the United States had chosen not to retaliate more seriously against what had happened to the [USS] Cole. And one Al Qaeda operative was overhead saying to the other, 'Don’t worry; we’re planning something so big that the US will have to respond.'” http://www.alternet.org/columnists/story/36651/ http://www.navyseals.com/community/articles/article.cfm?id=9621

Supposedly due to a lack of specific details, Miller and her NY Times editor chose not to report the story in July 2001. But no explanation has been offered as to why Miller’s/the Times’ foreknowledge of the impending attacks has been withheld from the public until this month.

It's fairly well known Pres. Bush had been on a 40-day vacation that ended on 9/11/01, and that he and his brother Jeb Bush spent the last days of the vacation on Longboat Key, Florida, an exclusive community of 8,000 (and home to Katherine Harris). It's somewhat less well known, but well documented, that that Mohamed Atta, the lead 9/11 hijacker, was himself on Longboat Key in the days before 9/11, drinking rum and coke with a 9/11 co-conspirator. http://www.longboatobserver.com/showarticle.asp?ai=2172

But the hardest to swallow coincidence is Mohamed Atta's method of travel to Longboat Key. Mohamed Atta, the fanatical Muslim martyr, traveled from the east coast of Florida to the gulf coast of Florida, where Longboat Key is located, on a casino yacht owned by none other than Jack Abramoff.

Another detail lost in the events of 9/11 is that a van with Middle Eastern men tried to meet with Bush on Longboat Key on the morning of 9/11. http://www.longboatobserver.com/showarticle.asp?ai=1874 What connection these men might have had with Mohamed Atta, if any, is unclear.
